Jonesborough's stories of Christmas come to life as Historic Downtown Jonesborough transforms into an interactive storytelling theater adventure for the whole family, Dec. 5 and 12.
It's Christmas Eve, 1968, and Curt the paperboy is delivering more than just the news. Travel with Curt on an adventure through Jonesborough's Christmas past, in the heart of Historic Downtown Jonesborough.
I Am Home? For Christmas is a mesmerizing production where the buildings and the streets come alive, creating a Christmas story land. True stories from Jonesborough's Christmas past are woven into a beautiful play that audiences savor scene by scene in each different location until the very end. Will James make it home from the War? Will his child still remember him? Will the Brooks kids get a bicycle? And just exactly what did the "Boones Creek Boys" do at the Erwin Parade with that old possum? Celebrate at the end of the event with your neighbors over hot cocoa, cider and a variety of traditional and maybe not so traditional Christmas treats.
I Am Home? For Christmas will take place Dec. 5 and 12 from 6 and 8 p.m. This innovative theatrical production that has audiences literally on their feet and moving to each scene, with show times beginning every 30 minutes. Reservations are encouraged as maximum audience capacity is expected for each tour. Tickets are $5 and $12 for families of three or more and can be reserved by calling 423-753-1010 or at the door of the International Storytelling Center.
